If you are a person with ADHD and/or a parent supporting a child with ADHD and co-morbidities, I can help you navigate the special education system through increased knowledge, skills and strategies.
Psychotherapy and ADHD Supports offered
I offer individual psychotherapy, a psycho-educational group and a community blog. Individual psychotherapy specialties are ADHD, general wellness, grief and trauma. The psycho-educational group is dedicated ADHD support for parents and caregivers of children with ADHD and common co-morbidities as they navigate the Ontario special education system and learn skills related to purposeful advocacy. The community blog shares a raw, detailed account of our families’ experience navigating the public education system and includes what I learned along the way. This blog offers readers a glimpse into the real-life experiences of ADHD students and families and is an amazing ADHD support for anyone who wants to learn more and be an ally.

Psychoeducational Group For Parents and Caregivers of Youth With Special Education Needs
- 7-10 sessions during the school year
- 120 minutes

This group is designed for parents and caregivers navigating the Ontario public school system for youth with ADHD, executive functioning impairments, and co-occurring conditions. It will enhance your understanding of your child’s rights and assist you in overcoming systemic challenges. This psychoeducational group offers personalized support, focusing on empowerment and fostering a caring community that truly understands your experiences. A commitment to attend and a confidentiality agreement are mandatory. Non-refundable.
Psychoeducational Group For Youth With Special Education Needs
- 5 sessions during the school year

This group is designed for youth in grades 8 to 12 with special education needs who are struggling to advocate for themselves or to understand their IEP (Individualized Education Plan) or IPRC (Identification, Placement, and Review Committee) and accommodations. This group will enhance understanding of rights and resources. It will also build self-advocacy skills and problem-solving. This psychoeducational group offers personalized support, focusing on empowerment and fostering a caring community that truly understands. A commitment to attend and a confidentiality agreement are mandatory. Non-refundable.

Psychoeducational Group For Professionals Working With Parents, Caregivers, and Youth Navigating the Special Education System

This group is designed for professionals working with parents, caregivers, and youth navigating the special education system. This group will cover topics such as disability rights, individualized education plans (IEPs), accommodations, disciplinary practices, escalation of concerns, violations, and available resources. These sessions can be tailored to meet the unique needs of specific professional groups, including teachers, case managers, healthcare providers, and psychotherapists. Sessions will also include time for group-led discussions that comply with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
This group aims to build a supportive network while enhancing the capacity and competency within our community.
A commitment to attend and a confidentiality agreement are mandatory. Non-refundable.
Support Group For Returning Parents and Caregivers of Youth With Special Education Needs
- 5 sessions during the school year
- 120 minutes

This group is designed for parents and caregivers who have previously participated in the monthly psychoeducational sessions. Its focus is on enhancing your advocacy skills, sharing personal experiences, collaboratively addressing the challenges of the special education system, and joining a supportive community of parents who understand your journey. A confidentiality agreement is mandatory.
